Only problem is it takes an age to boil on an Aga. The bottom is not quite flat so the heat doe's not transfer efficiently. Kettle looks nice and is well made. Only problem is it takes an age to boil on an Aga. The bottom is not quite flat so the heat doe’s not transfer efficiently. Nice kettle but is more suited to gas stove use rather than hot plate or electric burners.

It needs care though. It has to be washed up by hand, not in the dishwasher, and don't use anything hard or sharp when you're cooking. We use it for low fat fry-ups - it hardly needs any oil. We have an electric hob which make some pans buckle, but this one is heavy enough not to have done that so far. It’s a good heavy quality pan that really does cook without food sticking to it. It needs care though. It has to be washed up by hand, not in the dishwasher, and don’t use anything hard or sharp when you’re cooking. We use it for low fat fry-ups – it hardly needs any oil. We have an electric hob which make some pans buckle, but this one is heavy enough not to have done that so far. It’s an expensive pan but in my opinion, well worth it.

I am big fan of the le creuset, we got every cookwares are le creuset. this casserole dish is excellent, i cooked few time with this dish, save energy ,the fire keeps very low but the food cook absolutely fine and quick. little bit heavy,but it still worth to use all the time. even my non-stick frying pan is also heavy, but who gonna hold the pan all the time.sums up, le creuset thumbs up.

Approx. Capacity – 6.7 litres, so one of the heftiest ones, this versatile casserole dish/cocotte/French oven.

Ideal for entertaining and one of my favourite recipes in this size is:-

‘Braised Beef and Vegetables’,

starting off by browning the brisket on all sides in the dish on the hob, then adding red onions, herbs and stock….bring to the boil, put on the lid then into the oven, for about an hour……..out again, add my chunks of winter vegetables and back into the oven until the meat is tender…….a favourite for autumn nights, serving 6 comfortably!

Or….to show the true versatility of this brilliant ‘casserole’ dish, you could make what my best friend makes in his:-
Bazaar-sized cakes, to aid local charity funds and he has just turned out the most magnificent looking Celebration Cake….now waiting to be iced!

Sturdily boxed, with full use and care instructions supplied.
Easy to use and clean by hand, although some soaking may be required for more stubborn baked-on food remains.
Dishwasher safe, if it fits in, because this is BIG!
