I wanted a decent frypan that would work with all heat sources including induction, so I thought that this would do the job, having regard to the high price of the product.
It is a nice pan to cook with and feels heavy enough to do the job, which it does well, however after only using 3 times the “tough, reinforced non stick coating” has gone soft and scratches easily, (I have always used a silicone rubber spatula)
I am very dissapointed with the coating doing this, I now see that despite the 10 year guarantee on the coating, it does not cover scratches, so I dont know what this guarantee is about?
I think that LeCrueset have an ongoing problem here,as others I have used are exactly the same.
I have a similar Tefal which have had considerable use and no scratches/ damage could be found anywhere in the coating.
You can buy better pans a lot cheaper.

    totally delighted with it.

Its heavy to pick up when full of food,if like me, you elevate and hold the pan at an angle over the plates to dish out the food. The sensible thing to do is keep it flat on the bench/hob and serve from it using a serving spoon. I guess old habits die hard and I do like to get every molecule of juices out hence my ‘pick up and tip’ habit.

Note I bought the glass lid – great for cooking with makes a much more versatile pan; but be aware the lid handle depth is such that it cant be stored inverted in the pan (and other stuff stacked on top of it as you might normally do) – you have to store it with the lid in the ‘cooking position’ which makes this a very large item indeed to store both in height, diameter and length.

But its the best quality pan and Im about to order a smaller 24″ version to supplement the pans (also bought the 3 pan set and milk pan, see separate reviews).

Love this pan though. Highly recommend.

I was worried this pan was going to be too heavy but it’s fine. Had it five days and used it every day so far. A pleasure to use, perfect for frying eggs without breaking them. It has a 10 year guarantee but there is a caveat about turning heat up to full. You are told that you can have the heat up full – but not for very long or the non stick surface may suffer damage. And then of course you guarantee will be invalidated.

I’m not really sure what they mean by high as my supply is town gas and not that fierce when up full anyway. But I’m wary about taking the risk so will just have to be careful.

Despite this, I would still recommend.

Had this pan nearly two years now and am still as happy as the day I first used it. It still looks perfect – no scratches yet. Have heat up full all the time and no harm done. Great pan.
